Puttin' on the Ritz The 2010 Carolina Heartland Ball was held on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 in the elegant Guilford Ballroom at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The theme this year was "Puttin' on the Ritz" Reception started at 6:30. At 7:00 Dinner was served. At 8:00, after dinner, dance music prepared by Linda Jackson was played. Linda Jackson, 2010 chairperson, thanks all of the members of Carolina Heartland who contributed countless hours of their time behind the scenes to put together an great evening for our guests. The event raised over $3,900 for the "Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test" charity. |

National Chapter of the Year:

| Our Carolina Heartland Chapter of USA Dance was named 2005 - 2006 National Chapter of the Year! This great honor was announced recently at the 2006 USA Dancesport competition held in California. The award is the result of hard work and efforts of many club members, each doing what they can to promote Ballroom dance in the Burlington, Greensboro, High Point area of NC. We should all be proud. |

Youth Outreach:
|
|
Youth Outreach This year the Carolina Heartland chapter of USA Dance has "adopted" a school each semester to sponsor and encourage ballroom dance. Carolina Heartland provided a free professional dance lesson to drama students at Southern Guilford High School during the spring semester of 2009. Tim Saunders taught swing to 20 excited students at Southern Guilford. Several came to the monthly Carolina Heartland dance after the lesson and enjoyed dancing with members and trying out the new steps they had learned. Several of the students have continued to dance and stay involved with Carolina Heartland events, such as volunteering for the High Point Classic Dancesport Championships. Drama students at Southern Guilford used their swing dance steps in the play "Dancers." On November 12th, Tim Saunders taught a lesson to students at Western Guilford High School. |

The 2009 Carolina Heartland Showcase was held on Sunday, September 27th, 2009
at the Oriental Shrine Club on High Point Road
in Greensboro, North Carolina.
It was huge success and a credit to all of the dancers and volunteers who contributed countless hours of their time behind the scenes to put together a great showcase. | ||
